Director Junji Hanadou's profile: Born in Kagoshima in 1955, Graduated Nihon University College of Art. Worked as assistant director in Romantic Porno produced by the Toei and Nikkatsu studios. Directed TV drams such as “Ai no arashi (Love Storm)”, "Hoteru Uman (Hotel Woman)” and” Eien no ko (Forever Child)”, which received the Galaxy Prize.In 2001 made his cinematic directorial debut with “Hitsuji no uta (Lament of a Lamb)”, which was officially selected for the Tokyo International Film Festival Competition, where he received high marks for his trademark attention to detail in depicting human drama. In 2002, directed second work “Yume oikakete (Touch a Dream)”, the moving true story of Junichi Kawai, a three-time blind Paralympian who became a junior high school teacher despite being totally blind. Recent works include "Furyo shonen no yume (A Delinquent's Dream) in 2005 and "Anata wo wasurenai (I Won't Forget You)", a 2006 Japanese-Korean collaboration commemorating the 2005 Year of Friendship.
